President Mohamed Abdelaziz guest of honour in World Festival of Socialist Youth
President of Republic, Secretary General of Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, arrived Thursday in Budapest, capital of Hungary, and then in Zánka, which hosts the activities of the World Festival of Socialist Youth, whose organizers have selected the SADR in person of President Mohamed Abdelaziz as the Festival s guest of honour.
The President and delegation accompanying him were received by a delegation representing the organization led by its president, Jacinda Ardern, in addition to the Secretary General and other members.
The President is accompanied by a delegation comprising the Counsellor Minister to the Presidency in charge of Europe, Mohamed Sidati, Delegate Minister in charge of Africa, Mohamed Yaslem Baisat, Counsellor to the Presidency, Abdati Braika, Representative of Polisario Front in Italy, Maih Omar and Representative of Polisario Front in Hungary, Sulaiman Ahmed.
It has been the practice that IUSY invites to its festivals intellectual and political figures, and it had received Thabo Mbeki, Gunnar Persson, Zapatero and Papandreou. This year it has chosen President Mohamed Abdelaziz, in honour of the Sahrawi people and affirmation of IUSY s solidarity with its just struggle for self-determination and independence.
It is expected to attend this festival, some five thousand young men and women from all continents, which lasts between July 15 - 23, and many activities will take place: cultural, intellectual, artistic, political, recreational, and others.
International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) has more than 149 youth organizations of more than 100 countries, including the Sahrawi Youth, which is an active member of the Socialist International, which the Polisario Front has joined since 2008.
